How to Fix a Torn Nail

Fix a Torn Nail

Boo to torn finger nails! It keeps getting caught and I’m afraid it’s going to tear… and nail glue isn’t enough. It’s a pretty quick fix though, and all you need is:

  • a pair of scissors
  • nail glue
  • a nail file
  • clear polish
  • and a teabag!

Fix a Torn Nail

  1. Remove all polish and start with a clean nail
  2. Cut a patch from the teabag and glue it over the tear
  3. Let the glue dry completely and file your nail smooth
  4. Apply a coat of clear polish

Just like new!

Target Gift Card Winner!

My first giveaway

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Lynda M! Just for leaving a comment, she won a $50 gift card to Target (courtesy of my office). Lynda says she’s excited to use the gift card to organize her bedroom closet (do you think she might pick up one of these bad boys?). It’s a bummer she was only one item off on her guess for the number of Costco items stuffed in my super-organized laundry closet - but $50 ain’t too shabby.

And just to show-off, here’s a list of all those Costco items (even the embarassing ones):

Where I Work – part 3 of 3

Where I Work: part 3 - 1

Here’s my teeny tiny home office! That baby is a total of SIX square feet! Until recently, my computer/bill pay/filing center was crammed into minimal square footage out of necessity. But now I have an extra bedroom to maybe turn into a guest bedroom/office (just like Sherry and John!) one day. Until I’m hit over the head with inspiration though, my humble home office will stay just like this:

Where I Work: part 2 - 1

Welcome to part 2 of my three part series on where I work! Between the office and my office at home (stay tuned for that tomorrow!), I spend a lot of time sitting right smack-dab in the middle of these photos – so I figured I’d break it down for y’all.

This part focuses on the area to the right of my keyboard/monitor – where I have my active files, my phone and (spoiler alert) my fake plant.

Where I Work – part 1 of 3

Where I Work - 1

This is where I spend at least 8 hours a day!

I’ve worked at my current job for more than a year, and it looks very much like this most of the time (except when I’m working on a project). I *love* it when people comment on how clean my desk is… it just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Believe it or not, I felt there were enough elements to my work areas to spread it out over 3 posts (2 for the office and 1 for home).

So, let’s dive right into part 1 (of 3!) of where I work:

Organized Laundry Closet & my first give-away!

Laundry Closet Before

I’ve been sitting on this before-and-after for a long time because there was a give-away tie-in I wanted to do, but I never had a give-away item… until today!

Sadly, the give-away didn’t come by way of a super cool sponsor contacting me like A Cup of Jo or Young House Love… but it’s exciting nonetheless! I received a $50 gift card to Target from work, and decided to share it with one lucky reader… but first, my organized laundry closet (and there is a tie-in to the give-away so pay attention)!

The before picture was from before I even bought my condo. There was one (very large) shelf over the washer and dryer that was so cumbersome. After I got the stackable washer/dryer, my laundry closet looked like this:

Super Frizzy Hair + No Time = Hair I Love?

me with super frizzy hair (pre-flat iron!)

Ha-ha! It’s almost painful to look at those pictures!

I used to hate my hair. I could never make it look okay unless I took a bunch of time to blow dry it sorta-straight and I hate blow drying my hair (and even then I didn’t love it). I spent hours researching and trying anti-frizz products and tricks – but nothing worked… my hair was frizzy and thick and never looked right…

UNTIL NOW! (well, until recently) There are three reasons why I love my hair now – and if you have frizzy hair that you don’t want to waste time styling, I’m happy to share them with you:
